About the Author

Kat Grant (they/them) is an attorney, writer, legal educator, dancer, and musician whose work focuses on the intersections between law, politics, religion, and queerness. Originally from rural southern Indiana, Kat is a double graduate of Indiana University- Bloomington, earning their B.A. in Political Science in 2019 and their J.D. in 2022. During law school they worked as an intern for the Freedom From Religion Foundation. After law school they moved to Madison, WI where they did a two year Equal Justice Works fellowship with the Freedom From Religion Foundation focused on queer centered separation of church and state work. When not accidentally getting in fights on the internet or working on the blog, you can usually find Kat at a ballet or modern dance class, cooking something from their cookbook collection, or playing Stardew Valley with their cat, Merlin.
